What a great name for a biking
enthusiast! Tony has family in the Keweenaw and has spent
time in the area all of his life. He is a student at Michigan
Tech where is majoring in Mechanical Engineering. His biggest
passion is mountain biking and likes to spend a lot of time
in the saddle. He is the first official team racer for
the Keweenaw Adventure Company. He is Copper Harbor's shining
young hope in the U.P. Mountain Bike Series.
Tony is employed at Keweenaw
Adventure Company as a bicycle mechanic and also as a sea
kayak instructor, starting in his third season. Tony recently
attended an 80 hour bicycle repair and overhaul course at
Barnett's Bicycle Institute. Tony has also participated in
the ACA (American Canoe Association) Instructor's Development
Workshop (IDW) where his kayaking knowledge was
greatly expanded.
He is an active volunteer in helping to maintain and improve
the local mountain bike trails as well.
Tony spends his spare
time riding, playing guitar, and competing in cross country
and downhill mountain bike races. He is easily recognized
by his curly, blond afro!
