The long anticipated season is upon us and excitement is in the air for kick-off with all the KAC Pack! Our official opening is Saturday, May 28th, though you can join us for a BONUS SHUTTLE and “soft opening” this coming weekend!!

This will be my third season at Keweenaw Adventure Company (KAC) and I’m returning as Assistant Manager this year. I am thrilled to gear up for the season and get back in touch with everyone I have met over the years. Working customer service and wrenching on bikes, I’ve built many stellar customer relationships — particularly taking into account that 1/3 of our customers are past customers!

In my time at KAC I have seen it grow immensely thanks to Sam, Shelby and our professionally trained staff. With safety first, all staff have gone through Wilderness First Aid/CPR and some are even Wilderness First Responders. Additionally, all of our guides have been through Coastal Kayak Instructor Training with the American Canoe Association (ACA) and some staffers are equipped with formal IMBA instructional training and Outdoor/Recreation degrees! Even with all these qualifications, KAC employees also go through extensive in-house staff training to ensure safety and top notch customer service so as to provide the best possible experience.

This season new members joining the KAC team include Rudy Gemignani, Cove Fylpaa, Lauren Stepanik, Stephen Niewoonder, Will Smith, Andrew Pumford and Heather Brinegar. Returning for another great season, we have Ben Miller, Justin Sczechowski, Ryan Johnsen and myself, with guest appearances from senior guides Christopher Maxson and Dan Wiersgalla,  and of course Sam and Shelby!

We are all certainly looking forward to opening up shop soon, so keep calm in the meantime and we’ll be ready to get you off on your adventures soon!!
