Any scout group can take their troop camping in the woods– It takes a particular group of kids to go out and have some extreme adventures!
Keweenaw Adventure Company provides some excellent adrenaline-junkie activities while promoting team building and personal development.
Mountain biking is a great way to get outside and explore the woods of Michigan. It provides a fun physical and mental challenge for your boy scout troop. With state of the art equipment, you won’t have to worry about any mechanical errors on the trip. If you don’t know the local trails, Keweenaw has introductory guided mountain bike tours to make sure you have the instruction you need to ride on!
If you prefer the water, sea kayaking is a great way to have a quiet, serene experience in nature. We have a variety of day tours and there’s plenty of time to bond with each other and sightsee on these fantastic trips. If you want some more experience before you take off on the water – we offer kayaking lessons so that you can be confident on your trips!
We have plenty of other options, even going on a guided eco-interpretive hike! It all depends on the experience level of the troop!
As part of our Responsible/Sustainable Tourism, safety is always our number one priority, and we have an excellent safety record. Each sea kayak guide has gone through both sea kayak instructor and trip leader training with the American Canoe Association (ACA) and is certified as either Wilderness First Responders (WFR) or in Wilderness First Aid (WFA). Additionally, all staff members have certification in CPR, while some guides also have additional certifications in areas such as Mountain Bike Instruction.
