Meet Eli – Mechanic, Sea Kayak & MTB Guide and Shop Representative

I was born and raised just outside of Detroit and came to the Keweenaw in 2014 to study Forestry at Michigan Tech. I grew up camping, hiking, biking, and recreating in the outdoors frequently. I have always had an interest in the outdoors and our environment, so what better place to live than the Keweenaw Peninsula!

I currently reside in a neighborhood called Tamarack Location just West of Calumet, with my Newfoundland dog Ella. I was previously a member of Chassell Fire and Rescue and the Chassell Township First Responders. I’ve worked in many different areas including as a land surveyor, electrical utility technician, bartender, experiential educator, bike mechanic, invasive plant remediator, and as a small organic farm manager. When I’m not working you will often find me in the woodshop, repairing farm equipment, cars, and motorcycles, or going to see music with friends.

I love to meet new people and show them around town, we live in such an incredible place and I enjoy helping visitors have a unique and memorable experience while they are here. I am looking forward to being a part of the KAC crew this season!
