Copper Harbor Bike Tour Singletrack Adventure

Copper Harbor Bike Tour Singletrack Adventure – 5 Hour

Tour is customized pending on rider(s) ability and level of comfort.
This tour is BEST SUITED for intermediate and advanced riders and/or more adventurous novice riders with a good level of physical fitness.

TRAILS: Singletrack, Singletrack and more Singletrack! – plus, includes two shuttle rides for those wanting to take advantage of some downhill runs.

GUIDES: Our guides are very experienced and have many years of experience riding the Copper Harbor Trails and local area.

Depending on your skill and comfort levels, you’ll be guided through enchanted forests for a taste of Michigan’s own version of British Columbia-type riding amidst a variety of cross-country and machine built flow and gravity trails. Copper Harbor is also notorious for its extensive cedar-planked boardwalks and bridges and there are many options for a variety of rides on Copper Harbor’s stacked loop trail system in relative close proximity to the village limits.

Another great option for this tour is the Keweenaw Point Trail – an epic 13 mile (one way) ride (26 mile round trip) – through the heart of the wilderness to Highrock Bay near the Peninsula’s tip at Keweenaw Point. Venture out along the bedrock and cobbled-rock trail on Phase I on a ridge perched high above Lake Fanny Hooe for some great panoramic views. In comparison, Phase II is a berm filled flow trail that seems to go downhill in both directions, with the exception of the eastern most section where the trail is more rocky leading down to Lake Superior’s shore.

The Keweenaw Peninsula’s terrain surrounding Copper Harbor is mountainous by Midwestern standards and has some of the highest vertical elevation (up to 900’) between the Appalachian and the Rocky Mountains! Scoured away by the glaciers over 10,000 years ago, the rocky, rugged terrain of exposed bedrock, spiny ridge-lines and undulating valleys left behind offer a “genuine” mountain biking experience unlike anywhere else in this part of the country. When combined with the energy and awe of Lake Superior, the enchanted northwoods Boreal Forest, cool summer temperatures, surrealistic fall colors and down-to-earth U.P. hospitality, Copper Harbor is a premier destination for a mountain bike vacation and is regarded as some of the best anywhere in the world! Copper Harbor’s incredibly scenic, postcard-like setting and quality and variety of our trails will make mountain bike fanatics drool. Read more about our internationally renowned trails here.

All of our guides are certified as either Wilderness First Responders (WFR) or in Wilderness First Aid (WFA). Our guides carry two-way radios, cell phones (though coverage is sporadic) and a GPS tracking device capable of sending messages and to call for advanced help in an emergency.
