Copper Harbor, Michigan Mountain Bike Shuttle

The KAC Mountain Bike Shuttle Experience Copper Harbor

Respect the Van. Take a Lift to the Top!

Ready For Mountain Bike Downhill Runs? Because there is no ski area with a chairlift in Copper Harbor, our unique Michigan mountain bike shuttle is the next best way to get you and your mountain bike to the top of the mountain without having to pedal. Shuttles complete a round trip between the shop and the Mountain Lodge or Brockway Mountain every 15-20 minutes.

An activity that’s most commonly associated with ski resorts out west, mountain bikers enjoy bombing down Copper Harbor’s sustained vertical descents along the miles of sweet singletrack that connect the Keweenaw Mountain LodgeBrockway Mountain and the village, nearly 600′ vertical and up to 3 miles below.

While most of the trails are cross-country trails and involve some pedaling, Copper Harbor’s gravity trails “Flying Squirrel”, ”Over-Flow”, “Danimal” and “Downtown” will push riders (and their suspensions) to their technical limits.

DISCLAIMER:  From the shuttle drop-off points at the top, there is access to a variety of intermediate, advanced and expert only trails — easy trails are not accessible via the shuttle.  Please familiarize yourself with trail difficulty symbols on trail maps and posted signs, and ride within your ability… Please talk with shop representative to answer any questions!

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • We STRONGLY encourage you to reserve online ahead of time, as due to COVID-19 safety protocols we are instituting a daily “cap” – will accommodate walk-ins only if space is still available
  • You must sign a waiver to ride the shuttle (minors must have a legal guardian with them to sign a waiver for them) – when reserving online, please sign DIGITAL WAIVER that is included in Confirmation Email prior to arrival
  • We offer “bonus” shuttles throughout the season…please “like” us on Facebook to receive these announcements!
  • Cancellation/Weather Policy: Though a bit strict, in an effort to prevent over-bookings, if you cancel your Shuttle Day Pass within one week, you may reschedule the pass for other SCHEDULED TIMES in same season — otherwise it is non-refundable. Also, please note, the shuttle runs rain or shine — our trails DO NOT CLOSE due to rain. In the event of heavy downpours or if thunderstorms & lightening are present, shuttle runs will be postponed until conditions subside. If postponement lasts for any great-length-of-time then the shuttle time will be extended that day to make up for lost riding time. THERE ARE NO RAIN-CHECKS.

DISCOUNTS

  • Due to COVID-19 safety protocol causing for reduce capacity and a “cap” on daily riders, day passes have increased in cost and any discounts, including discounted multi-day passes and season passes, are unfortunately not available at this time. Hopefully restrictions with relax over the summer and we will be able to increase capacity and reduce rates.
We recently spent four days in Copper Harbor and used the shuttle service provided by KAC. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the trails. They provided great tips for us since it was our first trip to the area. KAC is great for those unexpected breakdowns too...their service guys had us up and riding in no time and out a good price.
