Meet Birch – Shop Representative, Mechanic Sea Kayak & MTB Guide

Born in Hancock, raised on Isle Royale. I spent my younger days paddling, fishing and hiking in Rock harbor channel. As I grew so did my reach of exploration.  I started backpacking the main island, going on multi-day  kayaking trips and gaining a better understanding of the land and my limits. In more recent years I’ve started rock/ice climbing and mountain biking, which has become my passion. Taking up these new sports allowed me to explore more of the Keweenaw Peninsula and its amazing hidden gems.

Guiding has always been an interest for me as far as a profession goes. Using the skills I’ve picked up from my various adventures and my own professional development to help others have some of those same experiences is a dream come true!
