Sam was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He is the 6th of 7 children, with number 7 being his twin brother Henry. Sam grew up playing ice hockey, loves to watch the NHL, and is an avid fan of the LA Kings. Every summer Sam and his family would head up to Chassell, MI to visit his grandparents. They have an 80-acre farm full of tractors for playing, trees for building forts and a pond for fishing. He has very fond memories of playing with his cousins and cooking pasties with his grandparents.
Sam went to college at the University of Hawaii at Manoa on Oahu. He studied business finance and graduated in May 2020. While there, he learned how to surf and fell in love with the ocean and any sport involving water. Having no ice to skate on to play hockey, he had to adjust, so he put all his effort into learning how to surf. He enjoys swimming, running, and lifting weights. He’s completed 5 marathons, all of them being in Honolulu. In 2023 he completed a 50k spartan race in San Luis Obispo. He enjoys everything endurance related.
While not out and about working out and being active, Sam can be found lounging in the grass reading books and writing poetry. He enjoys fantasy authors like Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson as well as classic authors like Leo Tolstoy and Fyodor Dostoyevsky. He’s currently reading The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas and appreciates any and all book recommendations.
